Tackle - Scoreboard Instructions

RYFA is fortunate to have scoreboards available at most of our Rogers fields. However, unlike some leagues and facilities, game officials may not always be available or willing to operate the scoreboard controller.

If the game officials are not operating the scoreboard and the Rogers home team would like to have a running game clock, score, and quarter displayed on the scoreboard, the home team will need to provide someone to operate the scoreboard controller.

Scoreboard Operator

We understand that having a scoreboard operator is a responsibility for RYFA and may be an additional task for teams.

• Head coaches are not expected to operate the scoreboard while coaching the game.
• If the officials are not operating the scoreboard, RYFA recommends that the home team ask a trusted parent or adult volunteer to operate it.
• The scoreboard operator should remain on the sideline and be available throughout the game.

If Your Team Does Not Have a Scoreboard Operator

If the head coach is comfortable not having the public scoreboard running, the game can still be played.

The game officials will manage the official game clock using their own timing devices. However, the public scoreboard will not display a running game clock, score, or quarter for coaches, players, and spectators.

Before the Game

1. Locate the scoreboard controller in the bunker near NCP 4.
2. Controllers are stored in a combination-lock box.
3. Use the controller designated for the field you are playing on:

• RMS 1
• RMS 2
• NCP 5

1. Controllers are clearly labeled by field.
2. NCP 4 is different — it uses the All Sport Lite app via Bluetooth rather than a wristband controller.
3. Refer to the scoreboard instructions and images provided for additional information.

After the Game

If another game is scheduled after yours:

• Do not return the controller to the lock box.
• Find the Rogers home team for the next game and hand the controller directly to their team representative.

If your game is the last game of the day/night:

1. Return the controller to the appropriate lock box.
2. Make sure the controller is placed back in its designated location.
3. Plug the controller back into the charger.
4. Confirm the lock box is secured.

Important: Please make sure controllers are returned and charging after the final game. This ensures they are ready for the next day's games.
