Rogers Flag Football started the flag football league in 2015 with the purpose of teaching kids the game of football in a non-contact environment.
The first year saw 150 players participate. By 2019, that number had soured to 475 participants in grades K-8. Earlier in 2020, Rogers Flag Football merged with Rogers Youth Football Association, but the flag football experience for players, parents and coaches will not change.
The flag league is open to boys and girls going into K-8th grade for the 2020-2021 school year.
Rogers Flag Football has grown to include participants from Annandale, Zimmerman, Elk River, Maple Grove and even Orono. Our flag football program is different than most, in that we keep track of scores, have standings and will end the season with a tournament and a champion for each division.
Players will receive an NFL Flag jersey with their registration. They will practice or play twice per week, either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. The times for games and practices will be the same, to help with scheduling and car pooling.
