RULES FOR 2008
2nd
& 3rd Grade
Stop
time will be implemented for the 2nd & 3rd Grade league in
the same format as the 4th Grade league and above. Stop time will
be used for the following instances:

Incompleted pass
-
Running out of bounds
-
After a touchdown
-
Moving of down markers
Teams
will be allowed to practice up to 4 times each week for the first two weeks of
the season and then back to 3 times a week including games after that.
4th
& 5th Grade
It
was decided that the 4th & 5th graders will be split into
two different leagues for 2008.
4th
Grade
One
coach will be allowed on the field for the first two weeks of the season.
Weight Limits
The following weight limits will be used for 2008:

2nd
& 3rd Grade: 80 pounds in shorts or 85 pounds with all
equipment on.
·
4thGrade:
95 pounds in shorts or 100 pounds with all equipment on.
·
5th
Grade: 105 pounds in shorts or 110 pounds with all equipment on.
·
6th
Grade: 115 pounds in shorts or 120 pounds with all equipment on.
Players that are too heavy to carry the ball under the guidelines for each
league will be identified with a black X taped to the back of their helmet.
This is to eliminate confusion over which players are eligible to carry the
ball and which players are not.
Game
Times
For
the 2008 schedule, start times for the early games will be 6:15pm and for the
late games 7:45pm.
Game Length / Time
Grades
2nd through 6th:
These games consist of four 12 minute modified stop time quarters, with
the last 2 minutes of each half being stop time. Modified stop time means
clock should stop for: change of possession, extra point attempts,
penalties, injuries, or measurements. In the last two minutes, time can be
stopped for: incomplete pass, running out of bounds, after a touchdown is
scored or for the moving of down markers.
Grades 7th
& 8th (NSFL) – These
games consist of four 10 minute stop time quarters, except the referee will
start the clock when the chains are set after a change in possession, unless
the clock has been stopped for another reason.
