Game Length / Time
Grades 2nd through 6th: These games consist of four 12 minute modified stop time quarters, with the last 2 minutes of each half being stop time. Modified stop time means clock should stop for: change of possession, extra point attempts, penalties, injuries, or measurements. In the last two minutes, time can be stopped for: incomplete pass, running out of bounds, after a touchdown is scored or for the moving of down markers.
Grades 7th & 8th (NSFL) – These games consist of four 10 minute stop time quarters, except the referee will start the clock when the chains are set after a change in possession, unless the clock has been stopped for another reason.
