Question: When will I find out what team I am on and the practice schedule? 

Answer:  A player draft is held in mid-August for grades 4-6th. All players meet behind Rogers Middle School on August 16th at 5:30.  At this time they will be pointed to there team location.  At the 2nd -3rd Grade: Coaches will be given their roster the week of the August 16th and then s will contact each player on their team.  There first practice is August 23 6:00, at Rogers Elementary. .

2nd/3rd Grade - 8/23 @ 6:00pm  all players will meet at Rogers Elementary. Take pictures and have their 1st practice.


4th -6th Grade - 8/16 @ 5:30pm  all players will meet behind the RMS and will be told what team they are on, Take pictures and have their 1st practice at RMS.

7th & 8th grade Coaches will contact their teams before 8/16/09, 1st practice and pictures on 8/16/09.

Question: I'm interesting in coaching, how do I become a coach?

Answer: Rogers Area Youth Football is always looking for new volunteers to help coach.  If you are interested, please contact the League Director in the age group you are interested in with a brief explanation who you are and what past coaching experience you have. However, past coaching experience is not necessary to coach in our association.

Question: Can I request that my son play on the same team as his friend(s)?

Answer: We hold a player draft in grades 4 - 8, so we are not able to accommodate special requests at these levels.  Coaches and parents are great about doing ride shares, so transportation should never be a problem. Because we do not have a draft for players in the 2nd & 3rd grade league, we do attempt to honor special requests, however there are no guarantees.

Question: What equipment is provided by the Rogers Youth Football Association, and what equipment do players need to provide?

Answer: The association provides players with the following:

• Jerseys that the players get to keep

• Mouthguard

Players need to provide the following:

• Helmet ( White )

• Shoulder Pads

• Football Pants ( BLACK in color)

• Football Shoes (any rubber cleated shoes such as baseball or soccer shoes are also OK.)

Question: When does the season start, and when does it end?

Answer: Practices for 2nd-3rd will start on August 23th and games on September 7th. Practices for the 2010 season start on Monday, August 16^th for 4th thru 8th graders. Games for 4th-8th grader start on Tuesday, August 31st^.  The season ends on Sunday, October 12^th.

For the 7th and 8th graders, the season will end on November 1st.

Question: On what nights are practices held?

Answer:

 

2nd/3rd Grade: No more than 4 days per week may be held until first game. Thereafter, a maximum of 3 nights per week includes games and practices. No practice should last for more than two hours. No practices should be conducted in bad weather, weekends or on holidays or held in darkness.

 

4th - 6th  Grade: As many practices as coach’s desire may be held until first game. Thereafter, a maximum of two practices with two games or three practices with one game per week. No practice should last for more than two hours. No practices should be conducted in bad weather, weekends or on holidays or held in darkness.  

  

Question: What nights are games played, and what time do they start?

Answer: Grades 2 through 6 play their games on Tuesday and Thursday nights.  Games start at either 6:15pm or 7:45pm.  For the 7th and 8th grade leagues, games are tentatively scheduled to be held on Tuesdays for 7^th grade and Thursday/Sunday for 8^th grade.  Once this is finalized it will be posted on this site.
